QUOTES IN A PICTURE

Today I was in Stumble! and discovered nice quotes in pictures related to life and love, which I could totally identify with!  Here are some of my favorite ones:

PAULO COELHO

I've always been Paulo Coelho obsessed, ever since high school!I've read some of his books like "The Alchemist", "Eleven Minutes" and "Veronika Decides to Die". I follow him on Facebook and on Twitter, since his daily quotes serve as inspiration and as good advice. He is one of the most influential authors and has influenced/impacted millions of people today. Here are some of my favorite top 10 Paulo Coelho quotes, hopefully you will enjoy them as much as PASSIONATE.HEARTS do!

  1. “The simple things are also the most extraordinary things, and only the wise can see them.”
  2. “Waiting hurts. Forgetting hurts. But not knowing which decision to take is the worst of suffering.”
  3. "Love is Joy. Don't convince yourself that suffering is part of it."
  4. "Don't be easily intimidated. Behind a cold face there is always an insecure heart."
  5. “We can never judge the lives of others, because each person knows only their own pain and renunciation. It's one thing to feel that you are on the right path, but it's another to think that yours is the only path.”
  6. “But love is always new. Regardless of whether we love once, twice, or a dozen times in our life, we always face a brand-new situation. Love can consign us to hell or to paradise, but it always takes us somewhere."
  7. “Anyone who loves in the expectation of being loved in return is wasting their time.”
  8. “Stay mad, but behave like normal people. Run the risk of being different, but learn to do so without attracting attention.”
  9. “When we least expect it, life sets us a challenge to test our courage and willingness to change; at such a moment, there is no point in pretending that nothing has happened or in saying that we are not yet ready. The challenge will not wait. Life does not look back."
  10. “The strongest love is the love that can demonstrate its fragility.”

CHARACTER OF THE WEEK

PASSIONATE.HEARTS' character of the week is Blake Mycoskie, the founder of Toms Shoes. For each pair of shoes it sells, it gives away a pair to a child in need somewhere around the globe. Mycoskie also just released a new book called, Start Something That Matters, which has made it to the New York Times Best-Selling Books lists.
Mycoskie came up with the idea of TOMS during one of his trips to Argentina, where he thought: "Why not start a shoe company that would donate one pair of shoes to someone in need for each pair of shoes purchased?" The design was originally inspired by the traditional "alpargata" or "espadrille". TOMS not only has different shoe styles and a clothing line, but has recently added a line of sunglasses. The line offers a similar deal to the shoes, buy one pair and TOMS will donate a pair of glasses and will also offer the eye care treatment that he or she needs.
I've always known about the shoe drops made by TOMS, but was moved and inspired when I saw the video of TOMS & The Row shoe drop in Honduras, the country where I'm from. I'm glad Mycoskie and the Olsen Twins' PASSIONATE.HEARTS  have made a difference in the lives of all those kids. Below is a video of the shoe drop in Honduras:
